Why we exist
The objects that surround us at work shape how we think and feel — yet most desk objects are treated as throwaways. Cheap materials, fleeting designs, no consideration for durability. We started Amsterdam Dynamics to push back against that.
Our belief: if something earns a permanent place on your desk, it should be engineered accordingly.
How we work
We design with constraint. Every ST-01 component serves a purpose; nothing is added for appearance alone. We prototype obsessively — hundreds of iterations before anything reaches a customer. Our manufacturing standards are borrowed from aerospace and industrial engineering, not consumer electronics.
The result is an object that feels different the moment you hold it. Balanced. Weighty. Intentional.
430% funded on Kickstarter
In 2024, we brought ST-01 to Kickstarter and were funded at 430% by 637 backers across 30 countries. That early community validated what we had always believed: there is a real appetite for desk objects made without compromise.
ST-01 is now available directly through our store, shipping to the United States and Canada.
Our standards
Every ST-01 is precision-machined from aerospace-grade anodised aluminium. Each unit is inspected before dispatch. We stand behind our products — if something is wrong, we make it right.
